About

Welcome to A curious Route.

I’m Lorraine Welch, a practicing psychological therapist.

Specifically I am an accredited, Cognitive Analytic Therapist (CAT) and Supervisor, also fully trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy) and MBT (mentalisation based therapy). I also have a professional background and registration in Mental Health Nursing and a BSC in psychology.

My work and writing is informed by issues of difference, belonging, identity, relational trauma, intersectionality, and the wider historical, social and cultural contexts that them.

I created A Curious Route primarily as a home for my writing, and eventually for psychotherapy information. This space attempts to name, make sense of and navigate some life’s dilemmas and complexities. Here you will find writing that blends professional reflections, lived experiences and observations, alongside ideas and thinking from CAT and other relational approaches to therapy.
