My Approach
I offer kind, inclusive, socially and culturally conscious, trauma-informed, neuro-affirming psychotherapy. I use a strong Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) framework. CAT is an integrative talking therapy which delivers psychodynamic ideas in a cognitive package. It is useful for deeper work than a purely cognitive approach. More info about CAT is available to read here.
I sometimes integrate EMDR into sessions where helpful and/ or requested. EMDR is trauma processing therapy. More information about it is available to read here.
Sometimes ideas from other relational approaches may be brought into therapy where helpful.
I work to an ‘experience before label’ way of understanding people and situations, as we and our lives are unique. Therapy is explorative, as-well as strengths and change-focused.
Time limited therapy of 8, 16 or 24 sessions is available or we can discuss a more open ended agreement.
